Seek The Peace

"He who would love life and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and lips from speaking deceit. Let him turn away from evil and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it."
                                                                                            1 Peter 3:8-11

About 30 Sundays ago, I decided to seek peace and pursue it. I had never felt so wonderful. At first, I struggled. I had bad habits (still do) that distracted me from Christ, and I had to work at it every single day. I can tell you this though, as the days passed I began to feel closer and closer to God and I began to see my purpose. I am still making mistakes and seeing more ways I can improve my life, but I go to bed each night with a full heart. I have made a friend while traveling and she just told me the other day that I have helped her come closer to God. I have never been more proud. If you would have asked me 3 years ago if I would be the one to help others see the light, I would have laughed at you. I believe that God uses the messy people. The people who have strayed so far it seems almost impossible to come back. I was a messy person, but I let God use my mess and turn it into something good. He turned my mess into hope for others, that their messes may be turned into blessings and that they may pass along even more hope in this world. I know that sometimes it may seem like an uphill battle that is never going to end, but let me tell you as soon as you think you're going to tumble back down, God gives you the push you need to keep going. Everyday here is a chance for me to be a better light for others, and for myself. I am still making mistakes, and I probably always will, but God loves me and he blesses me with the will to push on. No one is perfect, I'm sure everyone has heard that before. It's true, but we all are given the chance to be a light. If you ever feel like your light isn't good enough, just know that God gave his only son to die for our sins, that we may be forgiven. It is never too late to start living this amazing life he has given us. I hope that you enjoyed this post, and feel free to comment any questions, etc. Thank you so much for reading!
